Cengiz Onural

He was born in 1961 at Istanbul, Turkey.

He was graduated in 1984 from Istanbul Bosphorus University as mechanical engineer and had a master degree from İstanbul Technical University in 1987. He worked as engineer besides his musical carier until 1996. He has been a member of Yeni Türkü in between 1985 – 1997 and he contributed in 9 albumes.

He either scored or has been one of the composers scoring the films of Yeşim Ustaoğlu, Zeki Demirkubuz, Turgut Yasalar, Tayfun Pirselimoğlu, Çağan Irmak, Ersan Arsever, Ulaş Ak, Erhan Tuncer, Erol Özlevi, Selim Evci.

He established the music team “aria” in 1997 together with Bora Ebeoğlu and he is still a member of the team. Aria produces musics for films, TV series, documentaries, theater plays, multimedia products and jingles. The number of films and TV sedies that Aria made music for is over a hundred.

He founded Incesaz in 1997 together with Murat Aydemir and Derya Türkan and he is still a member of the group. Incesaz have published 9 albumes up to now. Onural contributed to these albumes with his compositions, lyrics, orchestrations, recording and mixing.

He published a solo albume in 2007 "Bir Nefes Hayat" – “A Breath of Life”. In this albume he rearranged and rerecorded highlights from his themes written for various films.

In 2007, he wrote an orchestral suit for the 75th annivarsary of Turkish Airlines. This work, later recorded, published and performed by various Turkish symphonic orshestras.

Since 2016 he has been teaching “Eastern Style Composition” at Mannheim Pop Academy Conservatory, Germany. .
